GeoCache fun!

Have you ever been geocaching?

I LOVE it! It's exercise, being outdoors, having family time - and there is a treasure hunt!

We went "geocaching" on Sunday, and had such a great time. We were able to find the geocache - I was glad I had worn jeans since it was WAY under the bushes! The kids had fun looking through all the little treasures that people left.

It was beautiful! I really needed the fresh air and the real break from my computer. SnugBug ran and ran and ran and ran. We saw grass that wasn't manicured, cows, a green caterpillar burrowing into the dirt, ants making a feast of a beetle, butterflies and grasshoppers.

Have you ever been treasure-hunting?

I'm so glad you were able to go - how awesome. I'm sad that I couldn't come along!! Thanks for the link for those of us who don't have a clue!! lol Maybe when the kids are older.

We hunt for treasure all the time - Q has a treasure box that we hide and then draw him a treasure map to help him find it - should be a good intro for vol 1's ch 1, right?

YES! We went on Saturday. Husband goes often. It was kind of a pain with the baby, but as she gets bigger, it is a great family activity.

We've never been geocatching as we don't have the GPS for it, but we've done the low-tech version (letterboxing).

If you're not familiar with it, you can check it out here. http://www.letterboxing.org/

My kids would love to do this. I'm afraid I might lose a couple of them in the process though.

GeoCache...my new word for the week. Can't wait to impress my teenagers, hubby and friends!

I have never heard of this. We just got back from taking kids to Enchanted Rock in TX. It was NO rock, but more like a dome mountain. It took us one hour to reach the summit. Mind you, we had a 6 year old, 3 year old, and the 1 year old to get up the MT. too. The 1 year old was in a back pack on dh's back. Then we toured a mile and a half long cave. I might be from a farm but have never done anything like this. NOW I know why God gave me boys. It was so invigorating to be in nature. I will blog about this tomorrow. Thanks for all your sweet comments. I have missed being on here. You know how the few days are before taking your family on vacation....CRAZY! Just couldn't justify the time on the computer. Plus our AC went out on Suburban, so I was dealing with that. Ok, this is ridiculously long. Sorry

I never heard of this until my sister and her family came up for the weekend last month. We found something in our neighborhood - it was so much fun!
