Little Man has been begging to play soccer for awhile now, and he is finally old enough to be on the team that does not require a Saturday commitment. He is having a lot of fun!
Their first game was this past week, and I have to admit it was less like herding cats than I anticipated. The point is to learn the game. They play 4 on 4, go in and out as they please as long as only 4 players are on the field at a time, the boundaries are not strictly enforced, and they don't keep score. I think it's perfect for 4 year olds.
Don't misunderstand - it was like herding cats. But, at least the "cats" understood that the point was to get the ball in the goal. Which goal was somewhat of a mystery to some ...
Little Man had a hard first game - seems I might have talked up the first soccer game a little much. *sigh* Oops - when will Mom learn?? But, toward the end of the game, he finally got in there and played some, and he even made the last goal of the game. Whoo-hoo!
He's number 3.
Way to go, Little Man!
