Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Ok, so we're a week into it, but I feel like I can finally say it. (Except that the Christmas tree is still up, but hopefully the kids and I can work on that tomorrow.)

My brother and his girlfriend came to visit for a few days. (I'm gonna be so, so sad if they break up. Here's hoping God brought them together. *crossing fingers*) We visited with each other, exchanged Christmas presents, visited the Air Force Academy and Garden of the Gods, and enjoyed each other's company. It was fun!

Yesterday and today, I have finally done my "New Year's thing." I know some do not do resolutions (and I completely understand why), but I find it is a great time to review my life. So, I have updated my 2008 goals, updated my time management schedule to reflect our changes for the new semester, and updated academic/character goals for both of the kids. Now, I feel ready to tackle the upcoming year!

And, for the sake of global accountability, here are the goals I feel comfortable sharing:

2008 Goals

Priorities (in order):
Child of God
Wife
Mom
Teacher
House Manager
Business owner
Church member, ministry

I love your list!

I have goals swimming around in my head, but nothing that I've written down. Which I know I should or they will be lost!

Thanks for the inspiration (as always!!)

Wonderful, wonderful list.

I haven't made any resolutions yet. I might just tie it in with Lent, since that's right around the corner :-O

Thanks for your comments on my post today. I think it is important for us to really push in to God and be lead by the Holy Spirit solely and try and get out of our "understanding". I know this is a big challenge to me but I also know God says, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not on your own
understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct they paths." Proverbs 3:5&6

I like it in the message: "Trust God from the bottom of your heart, don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go, he's the one who will keep you on track."

May we all truly do this on this election!!!

I enjoyed reading your lists. I love how you intentionally make character goals for your children. And I also think it's awesome that you have a weekly date with your husband.

I have lots of goals for myself for 2008 but terrible about taking the time to write them down. You've inspired me :)

I really enjoyed reading your goals. How is it going so far? Do you really get a weekly date night with your husband? What types of fun things do you guys do 4 times a year? I am thinking of kidnapping my dh on our anniversary and taking him for a romantic weekend in the hill country here in TX. We haven't been alone overnight since baby was born. And he is 18 mo. old.
