My brother and his soon-to-be-wife

My brother's wedding is very soon, and they have a very interesting "how we met" story. I love it, so I thought I would share today in honor of their special day.

First, some background. His soon-to-be-wife, (let's call her The Spanish Teacher, since she is, in fact, a Spanish teacher) was a bit of a not-unpleasant surprise to her mother. Her mom was 46 years old when she found that she was expecting, and The Spanish Teacher's closest sibling was 19 (I think) when she was born. So, her mom and my grandmother are almost the same age - only a year apart, in fact.

My parents changed churches a few years ago, and made friends with another couple. This foursome would frequently go to church, and then go out to eat. Turns out the wife of this couple is The Spanish Teacher's sister. They would talk about their families. And they began to realize how much The Spanish Teacher and my brother (let's call him The Architect - I'll let you wonder why) have in common. They lived in the same town. They enjoy art. They enjoy music. They sing in their church choir. And several other similarities.

Now, my mom is not the "meddling" type. But, she finally called The Architect and asked him to take The Spanish Teacher for coffee. Anything after that was completely up to him.

So he did.

And the rest, as they say, is history in the making.

I love that my brother was set up on a blind date by his parents, and they are getting married. It just makes me giggle.

And, may I add, they could not have picked a better woman for my brother. They are just perfect together.

Since I know "The Architect," and know why he has such a name, and know what a great guy he is, I'm also thrilled by this story. Of course, knowing your mom as well, it is even better! Nice to see that The Architect is still obedient! Please give him our best, and we'd love to see you guys sometime when you are back in the homeland.
