Why I'm not a public school mom

Neighbor Girl spent the night with us last night because her big sis had a successful leg surgery yesterday.

We did well last night. I remembered to get her from the bus stop, we went to gymnastics, she actually liked the supper I fixed, and the girls finally fell asleep around 10 when I was just about to give up hope that they would ever quit giggling.

However, this morning I realized:
- All the other kids have on coats because it is well, COLD outside.
- Maybe I should have asked if she had any homework? (Oops, she did.)
- Her glasses are on my desk. I'm guessing they would be more useful to her if she had them.

So, I'm thinking maybe it's a good thing that we homeschool.

That's so funny! There's so many things to think about when you're getting a child off to school - how does anyone do that? I don't think I could!

I think I'd probably do the same thing!!

(Quintin would have to get on the bus at like 6:45...and the bus wouldn't come down to the end of our road, I'd have to walk/drive him out close to a half mile...don't think I could do it either!)

I hope she made it through the day okay!

My little boys did one year of public school. Whenever I get the bug to 'send' them off again, I remember how many hours I spent doing homework and reading with them after they got home at 4:00. (And they were in 2nd and 3rd grades.) Yuck!

From the mom of the public schooled neighbor girl... she thought it was so COOL she didn't have to wear glasses or a coat yesterday! :-) I tell you, she'd leave like that (and in flipflops/shorts) daily if I let her! And, she had a wonderful time with her best girlfriend Monday night. BTW - - - the homework thing makes me feel better for all the times I, her mom, don't get to it! :-) Happy day to all you at home moms! Laura

maybe her parents will see it as a your attempt to recruit more students to your home school:0)

i'm sure they appreciated the warm and loving home she was able to stay at during a difficult time for them.
